She Walks...alot!

First things first...Abigail walks! She has been walking by holding onto our fingers for weeks, and would take maybe 3 or 4 steps once we let go, if we prodded her enough. She would not let go of us, and usually purposely sat down after a couple steps. Finally, on Sunday, Eli had her walk down the hallway of our hotel and (because she loves her dad) she did it for more than 3 or 4 step!. It was great. The next day, on Monday, she paced back and forth from the bed to the couch, and walked all over outside, and up and down the halls in our hotel. She couldn't be stopped! She can stand up and walk no problem. Here's the video from yeserday, Monday Nov. 21!

Ok, now back to our travels. We spent 2 days driving to Oakland CA for more hotel work. We drove up the coast of CA and stopped at Pismo Beach, Morro Bay, Cambria, Hearst Castle, Monterey, and the Monterey Bay Aquarium. It was a good trip with lots to see. With how much we saw, it was actually relaxing because most of the time we just walked along the beach, ate yummy food, and drove to look at the beach. My kind of vacation! (maybe not eli's...replace the beach with mountains, then it would be Eli's)

Here is Morro Bay and Morro Rock

Hearst Castle and California Shoreline...and Elephant seals!
Castle and Hillside
Hearst Castle is the home of a rich man who built this huge castle to live in and used the surrounding hills as his ranch. He mined gold, raised cattle, and did other things, that I cannot remember from the tour, to build his wealth.

Outdoor pool

Abbi pointed at all the colorful flowers everywhere. She was such a good girl on the tour and on the whole trip. She slept well, and had a good time.

Indoor pool...entire thing, ceiling to floor, was mosiac!!!!!!!!! Eli's jaw dropped when we walked in. He loved the platform to dive from and there is a diving board that is not in the picture. Its a deep deep blue mosiac tile bottom. As far as I know, the gold color you see actually is real gold!
And the elephant seals on the beach....

CA coast....ahhh!

Abigail loved to look at the fish and touch all the seeweed and starfish at Monterey Bay. I think she learned the word fish there. She sorta says it now. Its more of a fffffsh sound.

Abbi and the Penguins
Huge bubble fish, shark, and everything else tank. Abigail couldn't keep her hands off the glass of the tanks. She is a do-er and touch-er, not a look-er!
Monterey Shoreline

This was just a week before she really took of walking. She went from 3 or 4 steps to tons and tons of steps at once. We can't keep her down! (before we had to pull her up and coax her)

Down town Oakland, in the rain.

San Francisco: It took us nearly 2 hours to go about 25 miles and cross the Bay Bridge to get to San Fran. Boy, that was long and hungry trip. But at least once we got there we could eat, shop, and see the city and Bay!

Near our hotel on Sunday afternoon. I love sunny CA!

At a local park. Abigail just can't help but giggle practically the whole time she is in the swing. So Cute!

We are staying at an extended stay hotel in Oakland. Eli is working on local marriot hotels. We are expecting to be here 3 to 4 months...but who really knows! (our plans change very often) We are happy to back with good friends, in our own space, and living a scheduled life.
